Bringing Books to Kids is Crucial by Sarah Jones
I love kids books, and have since I was a little kid myself. From the Little Engine that Could, up through Five Children and It, and beyond, I adore almost all of the literature that I read growing up. There is a freshness to new readers.
Although kids often lack the sophistication that adults posses, they more than make up for it with an enthusiasm that is really quite hard to match. When you are reading books for kids, you can capture some of this freshness and fascination, in the straightforward, yet imaginative storytelling that is so important in this kind of writing. This is even more the case if you get to read books for kids to the actual youngsters. That way, you can see them amazed by knits, trains, dragons, and genies, the same way that these things fascinated you yourself when you were that age. It is a truly rewarding experience to be able to see the joys of a young reader, and that is no lie.
I am so passionate about books for kids, that I have been working for a non-profit charity dedicated to bringing the best literature to poor and underprivileged children for the past five years. If is not like my books for children job was the only thing that I could get as far from it. In fact, I had left a really good job in the professional world to bring books for kids to those who need them most. Although it has taken its toll on my lifestyle, and stopped me from enjoying some of the luxuries that I used to have, I would say that it is easily worth it. After all, instead of just working to make money, I get to really spend each day pursuing something that I am truly passionate about. I love books for kids, and I can help some of the young ones love them the same as I do.
Of course, not all books for kids are quite the same. In our charity, we try to bring a good mix of the old and the new. There are some really good books for kids being written right now, and I am quite sure that they will be around for many years to come, but some of the other ones will probably fade away soon. That is why it is so important to bring classic books for kids into the lives of children, as well as the new ones.
