Audio books are not just for adults. Children can appreciate stories that are heard as well as those written on paper. Vacation TimeWith vacation season upon us, an audio book is a great way to keep children from becoming bored on long car rides. If you are not interested in listening as well, have the little ones use headphones. That way, all of your children can listen to their favorite stories at the same time!
If you can stimulate a child's love of learning when they are young, that drive to learn new and interesting things will stay with him or her right into adulthood. Remember, not all learning has to take place in a formal environment. Certainly, school is important, but we should be open to learning new things in a variety of settings.
Audio books and their print counterparts are just two examples of ways that one can receive information. One is not better or more effective than the other; think of them as two sides to the same coin.
